Susan Watkins is an artist whose passion is to bring to any paintable surface or clay a depiction of beauty and relationships in nature. Primarily a painter, she has taken her brush from small canvas to 30 foot walls.
As a small child she could be entertained for hours observing the minute activity and various colors in a square foot of farmer's field, or lay back and watch the dynamic color and movement of the clouds and sky. At an early age she liked to catch the light slanting across a barn roof or day setting in the trees with a paintbrush. These impressions are still with her as she seeks to depict them in her paintings of alpenglow, light reflections on water, for example. As a visual artist her focus has become in recent years to bring her vision to those who are confined by illness or disability.

She has taken institutions and turned their interiors into spacious nature-inspiring environments and places that inspire imaginations.

She has received recognition for her work in hospitals, rehab facilities, and homes for autistic children. Her work has also been sought after in private residences and commercial establishments.
